GLAMORGAN ARCHERY ASSOCIATION
********CURRENT WAA INTERCOUNTY TEAM CHAMPIONS (for the 7th time)********
Glamorgan Archery Association covers all the archery clubs in the former Glamorgans area of S'Wales
We are the largest county association in Wales and are affiliated to the WAA (Welsh Archery Association) and ArcheryGB
Our clubs hold dozens of tournaments every year including County Championships for Target and > Field archery <
ON ADVICE FROM WORLD ARCHERY AND ARCHERY GB THE GLAMORGAN OPEN TARGET CHAMPIONSHIPS ON THE 21st JUNE IS NOW OFFICIALLY CANCELLED.
From the Welsh Archery Association Chairman- (14/05/20)
I expect that most of you have seen the notification regarding the
re-opening of clubs in England. I must stress that this applies only to
England. It does say in the guidance about travel restrictions but I must
re-iterate it here. If a Welsh archer travels to England to shoot, their
insurance will NOT be valid, English clubs should not allow them to shoot.
From Archery GB - (11/05/20)
"There is no change to the current position in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and archery activity remains on hold. We will continue to work with Home Nations as the guidance changes in those territories."
The UK Government has announced tighter restrictions in the light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The overiding advice is that people should avoid going out unless absolutely essential.
Clubs should not schedule ANY shooting of any sort until Government advice changes.
Be Aware that you are not covered by ArcheryGB insurance if you shoot in your backgarden (just so you know)
It is important that clubs follow ALL official advice during this threat to public health.
If any members experience symptoms highlighted by the Chief Medical Officer, which includes a new persistent cough and a high temperature, self isolate for seven days. The same applies if you have come in contact with anyone displaying these symptoms.
Check up on your club members if you haven't seen them for a while, especially those in vulnerable age groups.

Important information from the treasurer:
When sending affiliation cheques to the Glamorgan Treasurer Please ensure you do NOT use initials for 'Glamorgan Archery Association' & 'Welsh Archery Association' , write them out in full.
Banks are returning any cheques with 'GAA' or 'WAA' on them. This delays your affiliation and creates extra work for the Treasurer !!.
